MOTIVATION- AN INDISPENSABLE FORCE
Motivation- The word basically talks about any internal or external process, which is involved in instigating directing, and terminating behavior. All our involuntary responses are reflexes, whereas all our voluntary activities involve motivation. But one’s motivation cannot be observed directly. It is inferred from the behavior of the organism. It refers to the way in which urges, drives, desires, aspirations, strivings, needs, directs or control or explain the behaviour of human beings. Now the random and common questions arise, how many times have you started dieting, began bodybuilding, or started studying, only to stop after a short while?
There is a lack of motivation, or often, it is short-lived.
In order to accomplish something, you need motivation. It is a driving force without which nothing can be done. People who are motivated are excited about what they are doing, and always have a positive outlook.
In order to get motivated, you need to know exactly what you want to achieve, and to be willing to do anything to accomplish your goal. To be motivated to take action, you need to possess a great desire. Motivation becomes powerful, when you have a vision, a clear mental image of what you want to achieve, and a strong desire to manifest it. In such a situation, motivation awakens inner strength and power, and pushes you forward, toward making your vision a reality. It is one of the most significant keys to success. When there is lack of motivation, you either get no results, or only mediocre ones, whereas, when there is motivation, you attain greater and better results.
Lack of motivation means lack of enthusiasm, ambition and zest, whereas the possession of motivation is a sign of strong desire, energy, enthusiasm, and the willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve what one sets out to do.
A person who is motivated tends to be happier, more energetic, and sees the positive end result in his or her mind.
Make your target very clear. Think and analyse your aim, to find out whether you really want to achieve it, and whether it is really worth the time and effort. Think often about your target and visualise it as already accomplished, and shut your mind to doubts and disbelief. Contemplate about the benefits you will get by achieving your goals. This will elevate your desire and motivation. Socialize with achievers and people with similar interests and goals. Never procrastinate. Procrastinate makes you lazy, and laziness decreases motivation.
Patience and not giving up, despite difficulties and failures, keep the flame of motivation burning.
Repeat positive affirmations like: ”I have the strength to achieve my goal and I can do it.”
Start taking steps towards your goal. Sometimes motives do not tell us exactly what will happen; rather they give us an idea about the range of things a person will do. So, in other words, motives help us to make predictions about behavior. We conclude on a note that motivation is a powerful engine that moves you toward success and accomplishments in every area of your life.
