Finishing second overall and first in the section of autobiographies in the year 2016 was the life account of Neurosurgeon Paul Kalanithi, who at the age of 36 was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. The book revolves around how Kalanithi went from treating patients to being one.
Kalanithi started working on the book after he was diagnosed with the cancer, and talks about how it changed his take on various things in life when he had death staring him in the eyes. Kalanithi unfortunately passed away before the completion of the book, but his wife took on from where he left and has written the epilogue of the book. With the help of his book his legacy and words continue to live on.

The book revolves around Judicial system’s corruption and dishonesty. The book has received great reviews from both long time Grisham fans and first time readers. It is , in classic Grisham style, a high suspense thriller which captivates the readers.
The plot of the book is about an unknown source that contacts the Florida Board on Judicial Conduct claiming to have sensitive information regarding the crimes and corruption of a renowned judge. Investegator Lacy Stoltz is assigned the case investigation. During the investigation she must track down the unknown source, verify the information given to her and then build case against the the judge in question.

FBI’s newly hired detective Amos Decker’s attention is caught by a certain case after he notices an uncanny resemblance between himself and a convict on death row, Melvin Mars.
Melvin mars is convicted for killing his parents twenty years ago and Is counting days to his execution when unexpectedly someone else confesses to the crimes. Detective Amos Decker had had a similar experience. His parents were murdered and the convict was later set free when someone else owing up to the crimes.
It boils down to Amos’ investigation which will decide whether Melvin Mars is to be set free, or to be executed.

As the name suggests, the book focuses on the events of World War II, specifically on Japan and the United States of America. The book starts off in the autumn of 1944 and concludes with the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The book is a light read and doesn’t require a huge amount of time being dedicated to it as Killing the Rising Sun’s authors managed to put across everything they wished to cover in less than 350 pages.

Vance discusses at length the family issues he faced, with family members indulging in domestic and drug abuse and how all of it affected him. The story is a truly inspiring one as Vance gives his account right from his days of misfortune to the day he graduated from Yale Law School.

Gred decides to make a horror movie, using Gummy Bears. Greg’s adventurous idea takes its twists and turns as the plan to make a movie doesn’t turn out to well, much like every other plan Greg has.
