Rome : A city of legends

Rome : A city of legends

The captivating Colosseum or the spectacular St. Peter’s Basilica or the primeval Pantheon, don’t these ancient creations remind you of some city? A city known for its valour and its love for art, yes it is none other than the glorious Rome. Who wouldn’t have a desire to visit a city like it?

Rome, Italy’s capital is a cosmopolitan city which nearly has 3,000 years of vivid art, architecture and culture on display. Every year, millions of tourists stop by to admire the treasures and masterpieces situated here. Here the past thrusts through the walls of the present. The aura of this place is surely different from the other places.

Often regarded as the ‘Eternal City’, Rome has an immensely rich historical heritage consisting of ancient churches and basilicas, towering monuments, ornate statues, wonderful palaces and graceful fountains. There is a sense of spirituality and positive vibe spread from the ancient churches which fills you with energy, positivity and faith towards god. The majestic statues convey a tale of their own and need no words to introduce themselves. And the beautiful fountains, they splutter out the water which gleams like polished sapphires. Lastly, who can forget those historic monuments which exhibit strength?

Apart from charisma of the primeval buildings which sing the legends of its heroes, Rome is also the home to some lip-smacking dishes which will stimulate your appetite. The aromas of these dishes makes you crave for them, more and more.  The Roman cuisine is incomplete without three key elements which are: fresh vegetables, savoury meat and the cheese which melts in mouth. Rome is unique in many ways, but a thing which takes its uniqueness to different level is, the system of allotting certain dishes to the days of the week. Amusing isn’t it?

It is my dream to visit Rome as my inner self wants to discover and explore those prehistoric ruins and breathe the air of legends. I am eager to try those mind-boggling dishes and give a treat to my taste buds. Rome is a city which is chaotic yet relaxing, is traditional yet modern and is simple yet stylish. It is a city which cannot be described in words as it can be felt not explained.
