1908: Indian freedom fighter Shivram Rajguru was born. Shivram Rajguru was sentenced along with Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev on March 23, 1931.

79 BC: The most dertructive volcanic eruption in european history took place when Mount vesuvious erupted. The magnitude of eruption was around 1000X of that of Nuclear explosion in Hiroshima. 2 Romam cities, Pompei and Herculenium were completely worn off under the effect of volcanic activity and have been listed as Unesco World heritage sites.

1995: Windows 95 was launched by Microsoft . It was a revolutionary event in the arena of personal computing.

2006: IAU (Internationally Astronomical Union) released out the nomenclature to be used for naming planets and on the same ocassion, Pluto was declared a dwarf planet.

1891: Famous scientist Thomas Alva Edison patented the Motion Picture Camera.

1932: Emelia Earheart became the first women to conduct a non stop flight from Los Angeles to New jersey.She also became the first female pilot to fly over Atlantic ocean.
