Today is the Tomorrow you’d never dreamed Yesterday

Once upon a time, there lived a boy called Daksha in a kingdom called Anga. He was a very bright pupil, kind, optimistic and selfless. One of the finest and purest qualities of Daksha was ,he treated the poor and old people to be godly and donated them whatever they asked without bothering about him.He did well with his studies but he did everything differently like he never involved in any friendly conversations with his friends and he always stayed alone. He strictly remained to himself. This made him look insane to his fellow pupils. So they used to laugh at him all the time for any mistake of his.But Daksha never bothered what the others assumed of him as life itself humiliated him many a times. But he just believed in an old saying “Humiliation is the measure of a great person” and remained calm.At the age of 16, he mastered all the skills to be a great scholar and warrior.

One day,Dayalu, the king of Anga, due to mental illness, said to his minister Chanakya“I am very old to continue as a king. I wanna find a great warrior who can take my place. So I’m gonna visit my kingdom in disguise and find a warrior”.So he asked Chanakya to arrange for a horse. The next morning,Chanakya arranged for the king’s travel. The king decided to visit like a bandit to test his people’s skills. He also said”If I get killed at the site, declare him,the one who defeats me, to be the king of our kingdom otherwise I’ll keep a close watch on him by appointing him to be a lieutenant of our army”.

The king entered his kingdom along with a small platoon of legendary warriors of his realm and destroyed everything and hit those who came in their way to make a scene so that a few talented would fight him.But to his surprise no one fought back instead everyone surrendered and were crying for justice. The king felt pity for the reluctance of his people to fight for justice. ‘Oh god, this is my blunt kingdom without a single warrior’ said the king to himself.Suddenly out of nowhere came a stout man who started fighting with Dayalu’s platoon. He attacked ‘em like a raging bull to save those poor people suffering at their hands. ‘Lord Ram be merciful! He was strange. His attacking skills are amazing with brisk serpent moves and this stranger is not intended to kill but to injure’ thought king Dayalu to himself. Finally, with all his injured soldiers the king fled away.

Dayalu was finally happy that he succeeded in finding a warrior. But he didn’t know whether he truly fits into his role or not.So he asked Chanakya to summon that stranger before him. When the stranger appeared before him king Dayalu asked him what his real identity was.The man replied “My name is Daksha,Your Highness.I’m a Kshatriya ”.The king then said that he’d heard from his people that Daksha showed great will and courage to save‘em from a group of bandits and thanked him by appointing him as a lieutenant of his army.As time passed the king realized him to be a great personality and got more attached to Daksha. So he treated him to be his second son.

Daksha turned from a common man to a man of responsibility. The king tested Daksha every now and then though he always succeeded. Daksha heard from Chanakya that king Dayalu had a son called Rudra whom he loved the most in this world. But Rudra loved a poor girl which led him into a quarrel with Dayalu who denied his love.So he eloped with her.Since then the king Dayalu worried for his son and sent his apprentices everywhere to find and bring him back. But a few sources said he was dead along with the girl leaving Dayalu heart broken.

One day,the king went to Daksha, who was practicing with his sword, and said “ After my son was gone, there was no hope of my kingdom’s recovery along with me.But then I found you.At first I thought you were some damn lucky fool but you proved me that I was wrong. My people always supported you.So now I’m requesting you to take my position and lead this kingdom.I’m asking you as a father,Will you do it for me?”.Bewildered Daksha, didn’t know what to do.He replied “Your Highness,I don’t think I’m the right person to replace you. Please think about it again as its a great thing to consider”.But the king was deliberate and said “I’m quite sure about it and I never hesitate to crown you the king”.Daksha didn’t say a word agreeing with the king’s decision. “Tomorrow,I pronounce you to be my successor”,saying this the king left to meet Chanakya to make arrangements for the big day to come.

“ I think that my father accepts us as its very long since we left Anga. If he doesn’t we show him our son as a bait to cover up our mistake”,said Rudra to his wife Sati. Sati convinced and asked Rudra “What you said was true. But,Will you be the king’s son or former king’s son?”.Rudra understood her intention and replied “You needn’t doubt that as my father prefers blood before law.I’ll be the king’s son no the KING and you’ll be the new princess. If not,I’m gonna eliminate the one who’s acting as king. We’ll leave tonight so that we’ll be there by the second prahar of the day”.

Arrangements were going well for the king’s enthronement. Rudra reached Anga with his family. When it was time for Dayalu to pronounce Daksha as the new king,he saw his son Rudra approaching him from a distance. He shocked for a moment. He hugged his grandson as he ran towards him.He was extremely happy to see his son alive at the same time afraid to announce his decision. Daksha understood the situation of the king and announced to the people of Anga that it was an auspicious day for a long left son to meet his father and that was  the reason for the gathering.Everyone lived that moment. Chanakya was impressed with Daksha’s wisdom. Dayalu became selfish with his son’s arrival and announced that he’ll decide the new king the next day.

The next day, king Chanakya said to Dayalu “Yesterday’s a happy day for us.But we forgot our main purpose. Now,we gotta choose between Daksha and your son,Rudra”.The king realized it and told him start the challenges of the day. From the beginning of the first prahar, both Daksha and Rudra were tested.Every time they ended up in a draw. They were equal in strength, will, leadership and skill.Only test left was related to intellect. The king was very nervous as he don’t want his own son to lose. For the final test,Chanakya was appointed to test ‘em. Chanakya said that he was honored to get such a great opportunity whose decision’d decide the new king. Chanakya added “Well,I’m gonna ask a question listen carefully.Whoever tells the correct answer wins the crown. Here it is … Everyone says there exists god.Is there a god in UNIVERSE?”

‘No one knows the exact answer and I consider this fool Daksha ain’t an exception. But let me see what he answers and accordingly I’ll frame my solution’ Rudra murmured to himself. “ I’ll let Daksha answer first and later I give my solution”,said Rudra. Daksha replied “NO.But… definitely there exists some super power which created all this.We all call him god and that has nothing to do with your question”.Chanakya turned to Rudra eagerly waiting for his reply.Rudra said “Yes,there is god as ancient histories suggests us.That’s why we pray to him”.Chanakya laughed at his reply and declared Daksha as the new king. Dayalu shocked with Chanakya decision.“Your Highness,I should’ve declared Daksha as the king even before he gave the answer as Rudra told that he’d wait for Daksha’s reply, where he lost the game.A true king never goes for the second chance. And the answer for my question is known to those who are wise enough”,saying this Chanakya quit from there. The king Dayalu felt pity towards himself and crowned Daskha as the King of Anga. Believe it or not,if its blessed for you it’ll be yours today or tomorrow.
