suicide:a major problem

Life is beautiful but not always many a times we have to face harsh reality of life. Some can deal with it and some end up giving everything. Yes, I am talking about suicide.

Number of suicide cases in India have been increasing at a fast pace. Between 1987 to 2007 suicide cases have increased from 7.9 to 10.3% with highest number in southern and eastern states on India.

Each hour one student commits suicide in India. Students suicide is becoming common in kota, Rajasthan. Students end up their lives under pressure of marks, family, society or parents. They are unable to help themselves to get out of the mess in their life.

MEANING

This would mean when someone kills themselves with knowledge that the act would either cause them bodily harm or would die. For an act done intentionally how can anybody else be held responsible. This directly brings into question the validity of suicide notes, written by a person committing suicide (a person who is not in the right frame of mind as per research). When a person commits suicide it begins the gruesome process of investigation against the person named in the Suicide Note who, in certain cases, probably may not have known even what his/her fault

SUICIDE RATIO IN INDIA

About 800000 people commit suicide worldwide every year, of these 135,000 (17%) are residents of India, a nation with 17.5% of world population. Between 1987 and 2007, the suicide rate increased from 7.9 to 10.3 per 100,000, with higher suicide rates in southern and eastern states of India.

HOW TO DEAL ?

Parents should be supportive and non judgemental. They should take care of their children and motivate them.

Let these kids know a piece of paper cannot decide your future.

We have helpline numbers if you feel depressed contact them. Talk to your parents about the situation you are going through and there is no harm in taking counselling.

Society should learn to handle these situations with sensitivity and care.

“Nowadays, there are multiple avenues and opportunities that students can explore. There was a time when marks meant a lot, but it is not the case today. “Moreover, people have to realise that marks are not the final objective of education, it is more important to acquire knowledge.

Remember every failure teaches you a lesson, don’t fear to face the worst because after going through the worst best will definitely hug you.
