Freedom

Freedom

I am not allowed to wear short dresses as that would invite lawless malefactors to invade my privacy , who would unintentionally get an authorization to attach an inexhaustible and incalculable ending to my limitless sphere. I cannot eat anything of my choice as that would make the so- called brave minds of the society insane and give them a chance to question my sanity.  There are time slots to laugh freely to avoid social defamation. That is what I have been preached over the years by my near and dear ones who are surviving in a bigotry society who punish those who beg to differ.

Sometimes, what we wear, eat ,do help us to define ourselves in social surroundings and that is the freedom which is required by each one of us. We compare ourselves to other nations without guilt or shame in terms of freedom while forgetting that we aren’t in a less deplorable situation. Every individual must have the authority to use their personal freedom the way they want but without breaching the rights and duties policies levied on us which can be done using our creative and innovative brain tanks.  Personal and good freedom is not violating traffic rules while driving or throwing gum wrappers on the road.

The concept of freedom differs from person to person ,nation to nation etc, I personally believe that freedom is when you can make yourself feel respected and do the same to others with equality. With rights, another pivotal facet of freedom is “Openness” which is dispised in the nation we exist. If an individual tries showing clarity about his sexuality then he is outcasted from our social system without a second thought and is made an unknown identity or is loathed by the people who are a part of our community only. In today’s times, LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender and queer) community are being given some of the basic rights but still are not given the respect they deserve as human beings. So from where do we get the power and strength to call our country a democratic one? If artists can create what they like then why can’t we openly discuss our identity, cast, and creed without hesitation? This is one question which requires moot discussion though sound answers seem to be fantasy.

We need to change our mindset which dwells upon the fact that anything different from us will be treated alien to become a progressive and practical society. The day people are able to laugh, eat ,wear dance without fear, then it will be an accelerating society.

We are knowledgeable about what happened in the name of protecting cows. We need to understand that eating beef versus no beef is a question which can be tackled later. The topic that needs our stringent attention is the availability of food to each of the individuals prevailing in our society which is one of the most important facets of freedom which is casually ignored. We must direct our attention from trivial topics to important ones to progress fast.

“We call India a democratic country but it is just a mere illusion as of now.”
