Cast: Hrithik Roshan (as Arjun), Abhay Deol (as Kabir), Farhan Akhtar (as Imran), Katrina Kaif (as Laila), Kalki Koechlin (as Natasha)
Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
Three school friends (Kabir, Arjun and Imran) who are popularly known as “The Three Musketeers” by their kins, decide to go on a bachelor’s trip just after Kabir proposes Natasha. Kabir plans this trip to reunite his trio who haven’t been together for a long time with a hidden agenda in his mind to combat the insecurities and fears of each one of them and disburden all the past emotional baggage they had. On this trip, they meet the stunning diving instructor Laila who soon joins the group on their further endeavour. With the picturesque of Spain in the background, the delightful road drama takes you all along to the last with encouraging you to have the same with your near and dear ones.
I remember laughing at those silly witty conversations that took place between the threesome while being spellbound by the mesmerising scenes of the streets in Spain, substituting myself with the lead, doing all the fun activities the trio do and dancing to the groovy music, with my close buddies and a ‘Senorita’. 😉
After working together in ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ as a Director and an Assistant Director, Farhan and Zoya finally came together with their another friend-travel-drama movie ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ and it surely made up to my expectations, even further than that. This is a movie that requires you to go all merry on a thrilling ride with a stint of romance and comedy along with some emotional banter and will surely make you watch it ‘dobara’. However, one may get restless in the first half watching the trio check into hotels, rent cars, indulge in adventurous sports but the second half has got more than that with the viewers discovering the unbreakable bond of friendship between the boys along with them overcoming their past fears and anxieties.
In terms of performances, one can’t pinpoint any favourite since all of them perfectly pitched up their roles and swayed away the viewers with their stellar acts. While the girls were looking all cute and adorable in their roles, the boys did fabulously and were perfect for their character. With multi-starrier films like this, actors usually refuse to enact a role but Hrithik not only enacted the role without making his ego or insecurities come in between but also, proved his niche in the film while all three shared almost the same significance in the movie. I will give this movie a 4.5 star rating out of 5 and will recommend it to almost everyone and to especially those who haven’t been in touch with their friends, might this movie will enlighten a thought in your mind to plan the same travel itinerary for your group. Now, it’s for you to find out how the three unite and make their past misgivings go while doing something that might prove to be the thing that fills up the void in their life.
