An Independent Flight

An Independent Flight

She soared high up in the sky,

Wing broken, hope destroyed.

With obstacles on every turn and shackles impeding her flight,

She struggled to meet her destiny.

Her injuries unhealed,

Speed deterred,

Despondent and dejected,

Her wounds seemed to be incurable.

The thorns continued to inhibit the journey,

Yet she stumbled to reach the peak.

The winds ceaselessly perturbed.

Though dismayed, she wanted to crawl through the darkness.

There has to be light one day.

Searching for that ray of hope,

She decided that she would make it,

There was absolutely no time to fake it.

She knew she would continue to try,

For she was now adamant to fly.
