The last stretches of the sunlight glistened through the waves that shivered endlessly.
I was watching the sunset which ended minutes before, but we still stayed on the beach as if for more, with my sweetheart girl friend and my dog, Atom.
The evening volleyball players and hawkers of the beach returned to their homes and the little night shops of the beach opened up, like too many space crafts upon the moon.
It wasn’t many days since we went out together. She was a travel geek just like me. On free evenings we bought each other to wander across places. And my little dog, Atom, was not a high breed one. I saw him when he was a puppy and strayed along the beach in search of food. We both fed him and whenever we were on the beach, he ran to us from the vast nowhere-ness of the beach. Like little flies attracted to ripe fruits.
The painting of nature across the horizon only grew. The red shades were dimming. Wind and the ocean had already set another tune to the whole night party.
A strange feeling suddenly surged up in my heart. It beat faster.
I placed my hand over her’s. She turned and looked at me, expressionless. I could see an ocean floating through her eyes. Th depleting red ambiance had done little to reduce her shine from her eyes. It still shone like fireflies.
My eyes went wet, held up her hands, bend myself closer to her and whispered, “I love you, so much.”
She smiled, held my hands tight and gazed at the last red shades at the horizon.
I looked few more minutes at her smiling face, the waving hair. I hispered myslef in my mind, “what are you…?”
I could hear the ocean replying me in some unknown language. I went all tears.
Atom, as if knowing everything, looked like smiling to the wind. 🙂
