O rain!

O rain!

Rain you are so insane!
One of these days, I was staring thoughtlessly out of my window when I felt a few drops on my cheeks. No I wasn’t crying. By the time I stared upwards, the clouds had reappeared. They seem to ask me the question, ”do you remember me”?
I looked up to the heavens and replied, ”how can I ever forget you”?
The sky winked at me through lightning. I was feeling nauseous inside so I took to a stroll outside. The clouds greeted me with a drizzle. Even though I don’t like monsoon yet the solitary walk in the slight drizzle seemed to make me contented. I don’t like being alone. But sometimes you ought to just sit back and enjoy. It is necessary to realise your individuality, I guess. Slowly I seem to be walking on that same old road which I used to when I was a kid. I entered the old ground which seemed holy to me when I was a kid. Yet the ground had somewhat a deserted outlook. I was sitting on that old rusty bench, a sad, old memoir of the beautiful past.
The cloud asked me a question again, ” why have you returned ? after so many years ?”
I could utter nothing. I turned towards the sky and choked. I summoned all my strength and spoke-
I have come to leave you again,
To repent and make peace,
Of the needless love and broken dreams,
Offerings of modesty and ease,
Earthly lust and away from truth,
In the end of pleasure and start of pain,
With withered minds and hungry voice,
O rain, you are so insane!
coming down to your ask my friend,
I have made my gesture but in vain,
call my name if ever you need,
I will lend my shoulder to you, O rain !
It was then my turn to ask some questions. I asked, ” Do you get me now, my friend?”
The cloud broke down in tears, drenching me in rain!

Spread the love
